Joseph Smith

Senior UX Designer

I’m a UX designer and product operator based in Austin, Texas, focused on building scalable, user-centered products. With 7+ years of experience across startups and enterprise organizations, I’ve led initiatives from early concept to execution. Bridging strategy, design, and delivery.

My approach blends research, data, and rapid iteration to move quickly while maintaining clarity and quality. I believe great experiences are intuitive users shouldn’t have to think to use them.

Outside of work, I’m constantly exploring what’s next in technology, while mentoring and contributing to the design community.

Projects

KwikKart

QRadar SOAR Playbooks

Automate incident response processes, offering customization options to align with an organization's unique needs. These playbooks seamlessly integrate with various security tools, enrich incident data, facilitate escalation and notification, and aid in documentation and reporting. They enable consistent, efficient, and tailored responses to security incidents while promoting continuous improvement.

Reddot 2022 winner | IF design award 2023

QRadar NGSIEM

SIEM centralizes and analyzes security data from organizational sources, detecting threats and generating real-time alerts. It aids in compliance, offers monitoring dashboards, and can automate responses to incidents. Essential for proactive security and timely incident handling.

User Entity Behavioral Analytics

User and Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA) uses behavioral analytics, machine learning, and automation to detect abnormal activity across both users and devices, strengthening security and supporting zero trust strategies. UEBA expands beyond user activity to include systems like servers, routers, and IoT devices. It is especially effective at identifying insider threats, where attackers use legitimate credentials to evade traditional detection.
